Focus on Web 2.0

Web 2.0 refers to Internet-based mini-applications (plugins, modules, scripts) that enable direct interaction between a website visitor and the site. It is an evolution from traditional static web sites that simply allowed visitors to read content and fill out a Contact Us form. Examples in the uses of Web 2.0 include blogs, RSS-feed syndication and the explosion of online social networking. A key component of Web 2.0 is the interconnectivity between the website owner and the website. Updating and refreshing website content can be as simple as sending an email to a specified address or even by sending a text message via your cellphone.

eWorldLinx is focusing its efforts on connecting bricks-n-mortar business and service providers with a powerful and comprehensive Web 2.0 website presence. Our services encompass more than a business website. We intregate our clients and their websites with the powerful tools of Google and the information sharing of social (and business) networks such as Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, Feedburner and more.

Needs Assessment: A needs assessment determines the site’s functionality and purpose with a focus on how it will make it easier for your customers to do more business with you.  We develop a list of requirements for the site as well an organizational structure for updating the website, monitoring its traffic and fulfilling customer inquiries and expectations.

Collateral Material Audit: We’ll need to collect your promotional material for information gathering and to integrate the site design with your corporate image. This is multimedia inclusive as we try to incorporate your collateral material into your website and/or use the website for delivery.

Content Matrix: is used to define the components (content, functions and features) of the website and determine the source, feature type and other properties of these components. It also itemizes every page in the site and its relationship to other pages in the navigational structure.

Project Plan: We develop a time line of project tasks and deliverable deadlines.

CMS (Content Management System): CMS is a term for software that allows you to maintain the content of your site without affecting the graphical templates and/or having to know HTML or programming code.  eWorldLinx has selected WordPress and e107 as our two primary content management systems and we employ many of the tools and applets provided by Google.

Site Hierarchy: provides a general organizational blueprint of the site in hierarchical format. This step guides the building of the website and evolves into the Google Sitemap applet that is essential for true search engine optimization.

Website Composition: Our strategy for building your website is to publish a minimal but effectively-functional website in the new Web 2.0 technology within a week of developing the Site Hierarchy. This lets the public and the search engines know you have a Web 2.0 presence on the Internet. We then build the remainder of the site employing behind the scenes “end user testing” where you, the client, test the site in a “real world” environment without opening it up to the public yet. Depending on the size of the project, we try to reserve at least a week (and usually two or more) for the entire process, to make sure that we have met the goals and your expectations for the project.

Customer Training and Support: We train a key staff member(s) on the updating and use of the website and networking platforms selected. Clients are provided with exclusive access to our service ticketing system for ongoing customer support.
